As a result of Battle of Buxar of 1764, a treaty was signed between the Shah Alam II and Robert
Clive in 1765. This treaty is called Treaty of Allahabad. As the outcome, Robert Clive became the
first Governor of Bengal. Mir Jafar, who sympathized with the British was restored as the Nawab
